Welcome to spring and a new issue of Perspectives. Take this opportunity to read, learn, and earn continuing education credits from right where you are; whether from the still-cold Canadian north; the warmer, breezy southern states; or somewhere in between. The authors of this issue of Perspectives, Christine Yoshinaga-Itano, Melody Harrison, Brenda Hoover, Lyn Robertson, Lindsay Scattergood, and Charles Limb, offer the fruits of their work in academia, the clinic, and medical research.
Dr. Yoshinaga-Itano discusses some of the expectations we can have of children with hearing loss in an environment in which the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) process has been in place since 1992 (in Colorado) and has yielded successful outcomes for many children because of the availability of high quality services to families across the EHDI continuum.
