Recently, cognitive referencing has been a hot topic. Here are a few excerpts from that dialogue which provide an amazing tutorial on this subject. The initial challenge arose over the State of Wisconsin’s proposed eligibility criteria for identification of speech/language impaired. This criteria “stated that test performance at or below 1.5 SD must be referenced to overall functioning.” Email list members lost no time in responding and providing an historical background: In usual Division 1 fashion, it is not long before past literature is integrated with present literature.
